Job Title: Associate Teacher (Infant/Teacher Classroom)
Job Hours: 40 Hours Per Week (Non-Exempt)

Scope of Work: To assist the classroom teachers to implement a caring, educational program.
MINIMUM Qualifications :
- 12 ECE or Child Development (CD) Units, including core courses (child/human growth and development; child/family/community AND curriculum) OR Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- 50 days of 3+hours/day work experience within 2 years.
- Must be willing to continue educational growth to obtain minimum qualifications of a Child Development Teacher’s Permit and work towards a Bachelors Degree.
- Fingerprints clearance through Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language fluently.
- Knowledge and experience in working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of low-income and homeless issues for children and families preferred.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the cultural background of the children and families being served.
- Ability to relate to children and adults in a positive, respectful manner.
- Ability to lift and/or carry children.
- Ability to supervise/work with a staff of varying educational and experiential backgrounds with sensitive leadership, maturity, and stability.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese Dialects preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Professional ethics of confidentiality, discretion and good judgment.
- Work closely with other teaching/ staff in the development of a comprehensive children’s program in accordance with HFDH’s ECE philosophy, policy, and procedures.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs and interests of each child.
- Assist in planning and implementing agency-sponsored family celebrations and classroom parent meetings.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Maintain written records and observations of all children in the classroom, noting their development and behavior in all aspects of the program.
- Assist in the orientation process of new teachers.
- Assist in creating a warm, nurturing, respectful atmosphere for the children to be encouraged to learn and grow.
- With the input of classroom staff, create an individualized professional development plan for each child.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of team and agency meetings, staff in-service trainings, ECE and supervisory courses and workshops for professional growth.
Communication:
- Work cooperatively with parents, staff and third party consultants to meet the individual needs of children and their families
- Maintain positive communication regarding Holy Family Day Home to parents, other staff members, and the surrounding community.
- Meet regularly with administration, parents, teachers, and others regarding the developmental progress of children and interpretation of HFDH policies
Program Administration:
- Enforce all Licensing Regulations set forth in the Manual of Policies and Procedures, under Child Care Center, including, but not limited to, insuring that appropriate staff-child ratios are maintained at all times.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on all children in the class, and on the material needs of the classroom for supplies and maintenance.
- Report all injuries and other health concerns to the administration, and administer pediatric first-aid when necessary, and as mandated by state law, report any suspected child abuse.
- Assist Site Supervisor and administration in all matters pertaining to the effective and efficient running of the childcare facility.

Intake Assistant

Scope of Work:
The Intake Assistant (I.A.) reports to the Social Services Manager and works directly with the Intake Coordinator. The I.A. maintains maximum enrollment in the program, which consists of 150 childcare slots for children ages 2 through 6 years old. When needed, the I.A. will do light case management with families who are in need of extra support. Professional ethics of confidentiality, discretion and good judgment are vital for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. preferred. High school diploma required.
- A commitment to the mission of Holy Family Day Home.
- Ability to work with people from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Spanish speaking, both written and verbal fluency required.
- Knowledge of appropriate referrals for families seeking outside resources.
- Strong background in Windows and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Must possess general office skills; efficient filing, use of various office machines, type 50wpm.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain maximum enrollment in the program. Anticipate vacancies in enrollment and expedite the enrollment process for upcoming applicants on the waiting list.
- Provide information and referral support to parents as requested.
- Maintain all family files in compliance with the specific funding requirements of the particular contract as well as insure the confidentiality of all information contained in the family files.
- Maintain the agency waiting list for in accordance with agency set standards.
- Prepare monthly attendance report.
- Complete necessary correspondence/reports.
- Maintain computer file for re-certification and regular assessments of children, funding list, and attendance.
- Oversee the collection of monthly childcare fees and preparation of alternative payment plan timesheets.
- Assist the Social Services Team Leader and Site Supervisor in the organizing and coordination of bi-monthly parent meetings/workshops.
- Assist teachers when needed and give breaks when needed.
- Attend all assigned organization and community meetings and training.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
